Das Statement von Charlie Winston:

It is with great sadness that a decision has been taken to cancel the Schaffhausen leg of the European shows. These are strangely challenging times and, like most of us today, the economics of touring life is being compromised on a daily basis; what we want to do / places we want to go – versus – the cost of doing it. It has all become a bit too difficult for many people who are trying to keep a place in the game of music.

(You may not be aware of this, but many people all across the industry are really struggling to keep their livelihoods in doing what they love. Be it artists, promoters, venue managers, record labels and agents; everyone is having to make huge sacrifices to keep the wheel turning).

Everyone is hoping this will dramatically improve in the next year or two. There are many artists either not touring or only touring locally rather than internationally, owing to the costs. When the change we are all waiting for arrives, I will endeavour to make the trip again. Thank you to those who bought tickets. I sincerely appreciate it and promise that when the time is right, I will come.

Charlie Winston, der Vagabund, der erst nach Frankreich umsiedeln musste, um in seiner Heimat Bekanntheit zu erlangen. Der Engländer, der seinem Überhit auch genau diesen Titel gegeben hat: «Like a Hobo».

Winston fühlt sich Frenglish, was er auch in seinem Song «Exile» besingt, welcher auf seinem aktuellen, 2022 erschienenen Album «As I Am» zu hören ist. Sein aktuelles Album entstand in Zusammenarbeit mit dem französischen Sänger Vianney, in dessen Pariser Heimstudio die Songs auch aufgenommen worden. Also mal abgesehen von den Orchesterparts, die von einem 50-Köpfigen Ensemble in Rom eingespielt wurden, wohlgemerkt. Aus der Zusammenarbeit mit Vianney gipfelte dann auch der wunderbare Song «Shifting Paradigms» der das Zeug hat, ein weiterer Überhit in Winstons Repertoire zu werden.

Im Vorprogramm von Charlie Winston erwartet dich Shem Thomas. Die Fans des «The Voice of Switzerland» Stars sagen über ihn Dinge wie: «Verrückt schöne Musik» oder «Selte so glücklich vu Konzert hei cho». Das kann ja nur gut werden!
